A Midsummer Night's Dream

William Shakespeare is truly an amazing and most talented writers I have ever known. Another story of his which showed a lot of skills and imagination. A Midsummer Night's Dream, a story which tackles different kinds of genres, comedy, romance, and fantasy. I had really fun reading the story. The themes of the story was about difficulties in love, magic and the relationships between fantasy and reality and between environment and reality.

What can be the most awaited part of all the readers? Of course it's the climax. The part of the story where the highest point of tension is read. This is where the struggle is found and how the characters will act to this struggle. In short, this is the BEST PART OF THE STORY!

For our Informal theme this week, we were asked to post what we think is the climax of Shakespeare's piece " A Midsummer Night's Dream".. First of all, when I searched for the climax of the story in the net, it says that it doesn't have a real climax. " In the strictest sense, there is no real climax, as the conflicts of the play are all resolved swiftly by magical means"

But for me the climax is found in Activity 3 scene 2. This part focused on the confusion among the four Athenian lovers. Now that both men have been magically induced to switch their love from Hermia to Helena, the vanities and insecurities of both women become far more pronounced. Helena’s low self-esteem prevents her from believing that either man could really be in love with her.

The two Athenian men end up falling in love with Helena instead of Hermia because of the potion. The young men fought each other for Helena's love making Hermia jealous. Afterwards the young girls fought through physical test but then turned out to be an emotional test. Good thing Puck was there to make peace with all the fighting going on. Puck’s magical ventriloquism is what prevents Lysander and Demetrius from killing each other. And thaat is the climax for mee. :))
